Problem engaging gears

Hello...again :(
Our toledo has problems engaging certain gears..at certain times.
It will do this whether its hot or cold.
The worst gear would be reverse, which can be very diffictult engaging and disengaging. Often there is a slight crunch.
1st and 3rd are the next worse gears.
I find that I have to sit closer to the pedals than I would in other cars, as I find that I have to press the clutch all the way to the floor to change gear.

It is on 67000 miles and has a FSH so I expect its always had its gear oil changed...

Has anyone got any ideas what this is?
The car is under warranty, Im not sure if this is something I could expect the garage to put right..

Cold weather gearchanges can often be a bit sticky until things warm up, but you say this happens hot or cold so I would think clutch cable?

I hope your whole clutch isn't shot but a supposed test for the clutch itself is thus:

Put the car in 2nd or third gear and let the clutch out slowly. (make sure the car’s handbrake brake is on, and you have your foot on the brake) Does the engine RPM decrease and almost stall? If it does, the clutch still has some life in it, and is doing it’s job. If the clutch slips, and the engine does not sound like it’s going to stall, there is a fair chance the clutch needs to be replaced.

Not needed to try it myself but might be worth a go.

out there over the edge vw tech
changing gear oil is not normally part of a service so probably hasn't been done and if its only done 67k and has a warranty its probably got a hydraulic clutch system not cable as its probably a mk2 tolly not mk1 .I would start with bleeding the clutch system first as even if its had its brake fluid changed every 2 years its probably not had the clutch hydraulics bled through ,then if thats not helped change the gearbox oil. Then look at the clutch its self after that .
