Had the same problem, mine was sorted at the wires near the battery. Someone has posted a photo in this post of those wires what are connected to the positive side, one of those is for the power steering, i soldered it together and it was working again seemed it was loose.

Were you meaning that you repaired a cracked fuse link but soldering it?

What dmm222 explained in post #5 ?

I think he is talking about the wiring.

when a fuse fails the correct procedure at this cars is to remove it from socket and put it in the reserve socket with a fuse.
put the fuse below the L shape metal plate.
if it is the power steering then a 50a (N10424903).

The 1.2 TSi Toledo + Rapid had a recall for the power steering. Is there one for the Ibiza as well, they're mechanically quite similar.

Risky it is not but three things:

- Probably it will not work as it belongs to the previous generation. 6Q0 instead of 6R0 like yours.

- You will need vag-com to get the code of your old pump and put it in the new pump.

- You can get one on ebay with the same code for around 100€.
cant seem to find one with my code anywhere on ebay:(

This one is fine, as long as you code it with VCDS after.

If you don't code, it should also work but with lighter steering and I don't know if that is good for the rack on the long term.

I had mine coded for the audi A1 configuration for one week. The pump makes a hissing even when not turning the steering with that coding as it is running when stationary at 2500rpm instead of 1000rpm of the ibiza and making more pressure.

buy also the oil, it is G004000M2

Nice.

Probably it is lighter than before as it came from an Audi A1.

The pump does an hissing noise while not turning the steering? Mine with the A1 coding does that.

If you get the chance change the code to

1xx11 - normal
1xx21 - fr
1xx31 - cupra

You probably have now

11251 - Audi A1 with ESP

xx = 12 for ESP
xx = 01 for non ESP
