power steering fluid ?

I appear to have a leak in one of the hoses from the power steering, for now i just want to top it up as its below the min mark.

What type of power steering fluid can i use, just a generic one from halfords or has it got to be a specific fluid ?

dont matter got one now and hoped it was the right one, its a grade 3

Its not normal ATF/Power Steering fluid. Its Central Hydraulic fluid (CHF 11S) that goes in the power steering reservoir. It should be a gold/green colour:

Nothing else should be used in your power steering. Definitely not Dexron 2 or 3.

Its probably leaking from the pump to rack pipe that joins on the n/s. Usually leak from the swaged connection.

Or through the sensor where the pump to rack pipe is banjo bolted to the pump. At least that is where mine has been troublesome in the past!
