Hi Slimy

appreciate what you are saying but if you havent got or dont have access to vag com -which from his postings v5 boy hasnt it can provide a pointer to the faulty pack, the first time mine went this is the way the AA guy diagnosed it at the side of the road,he replaced the faulty unit from stock but i had to get codes cleared/management light reset at local garage, when my next one went i used this method myself to find faulty unit,- it may depend on if the unit is just faulty or completley dead as to how much it shows!

Regards

Dave

I'm reading this thread with some sympathy. If my experience is anything to go by, it can get expensive if not tackled early. My 2002 V5 150 developed a stutter, had two new coil packs and - £400 later - has just had a Lambda sensor replaced. It's just been through a 75k service - nothing showed up on the diagnostic - and the stutter is still there. I trust the garage which did the work, IVC in Leeds, but I'm running out of ideas (and money). Plus, the fuel consumption's taking a hit, as I seem to be revving the car more than I used to just to get through the flat spot and hesitancy between 1500 and 2500 rpm (@50-60 mph in top). Shame, really, but it's spoiling a really good and under-rated car.
