Power gain ~ is it noticeable?

I've got an almost standard 2002 LC that i've had since new. All i've changed so far is (performance wise)

1. BMC CDA
2. Miltek cat-back
3. Tarox g88 disks

What i've got planned is

Turbo-back Miltek inc 100 cell cat
Forge 007 or split R (undecided at the mo)
Jabba sport stage 2 re-map
(in this order)

What I want to know is what will the final bhp & torque figures likely to be and how noticeable will the extra power be... and will it really be worth it?

I have no plans to change from my LC to an LCR... before anyone suggests it:lol:

The map will be what changes the car, more power and driveability etc. The other bits and bobs just help to get the best out of the map. Jabba have a good name so i'm sure you won't be disapointed. ;)

It depends... if you do each mod, one by one, you might notice a little gain after each bit, but nothing major. BUT... if you did all of it together, you'd notice a very big gain as the difference between how it was before and how it is now would be much greater.

The FMIC wont give you more power, but will help a bit to hold it at hi-revs and also stop heat-soak (or heat build-up).

You dont say what power the car is, but i'll guess the 2002 is 180bhp with the Ko3s turbo on it (same as mine).

I've got (just now) an APR standard map, with origional exhaust it puts out 215bhp (a bit low, but very relible). Power does start to drop off above 5,000 RPM and is gone by 6,000rpm.

Start of the year i got a new exhaust (Miltek turbo-back) and it holds power a lot better, does not drop off until over 6,000rpm now (but still boosting at 6,500), not had it RR'd since so cant say if it's gaining any more power but it is nicer to drive with the extra hi-rpm grunt :)

With what you say you'll do and in that order the map will cover everything in the car, i'd say around 220-225bhp at the end of it.

Will you notice it - Oh Yea Baby :funk:

Is it worth it (mapping) - yup, it's the best "Bang Per £'s" you can get.

Are you thinking about taking things further in the future ?????

yes the car is 180bhp and all the mods will come at once.

I want to improve the performance first then think about FMIC, hoses, suspension, 18" alloys & body kit. I like the idea of removing the fog lights (mine have been cracked for the past 2 - 3 years) then using them as air intakes.

Re-spray has also been sorted out, I have one of those faded onvi's so it will be sprayed black with red metal-flake.... soon (ish).

I just got remapped yesterday, and its absolutely stunning. No idea what power it puts out (not really interested, it feels good enough) - but it shows my mates new GTI a clean set of heels, which is nice :)

I sorted the suspension before the map, and im really glad i did. I can only imagine how horrible having all that power is and only being able to use it on a straight road. The standard suspension is horrible, and barely copes with 180bhp never mind the extra.
