Hey guys Ive got a ibiza AHU 1998 tdi

however recently its been dropping in power in lower rev range.. usually b4 the turbo kicks in.. it seems like it hesitates or starved of fuel, well it actually drops in speed then will suddenly shoot off any ideas? some times i have to take my foot off the throttle altogether then press it on again..

i changed the oil recently and service was running great but they gave me one of those injector cleaning solutions and im sure its started since ive put that but ive put through loads more fuel and its still doing it.. more when the car is cold aswell..

thanks all for looking and helping in advance..

Sounds like your air mass meter might be faulty. It can get gunked up over time and lose signal and cause the problems you have described.

It doesn't always appear as a fault on the ECU because it's normally intermittent.

It can be cleaned but if that doesn't sort it then it's time for a new one..
