Bringing up an old thread but just wondering how many people have had their rocker covers powder coated?

I've sent my front upper strut brace, rocker cover, charge pipe, ATP metal TIP and inlet manifold off to BJV Engineering (www.wheelrefurbishing.com) to be powder coated this week and they rang me this morning to say that they won't be able to powder coat the rocker cover without it going all over the underside and advised it would withstand the heat better if wet sprayed?

I advised them that a few people have had them done before so just wondering what people's thoughts are on this

the place that have done 3 for me now used to stick a layer of stuff over the underside to stop it being sprayed, they must have something they can use, i wouldnt like having the underside sprayed anyway.

and this is an old thread, as my engine bay is black now, not grey

Yeah I thought that when posting :) Hopefully they know what they're doing as they did a good job on my wheels and are pretty popular on the VAG forums.

Just curious as to whether normal paint will withstand the temps OK

I've been quoted £17 from SEAT for the rocker cover gaskets :(

There is some light overspray on the inside that you may be able to make out.

Is this anything to be concerned about?
