(Potential) Gearbox Whine

Hi all,

2009 Leon 1.9tdi (105hp) 5spd

Apologies if this has been covered else where, I have briefly looked and cannot find anything.

So long story short, had a garage replace my clutch about 10 months ago, and they made a right c*ck up. Installed a dodgy guide tube that led to leaking gear oil and gaining quite a worrying (but also fun) supercharger whine, as well as severe slippage shortly after the work being done. After I went to them 4 times and each time they came back saying it was normal and it was "flywheel chatter". I made them aware of the puddle of gear oil under my car and they ended up replacing the clutch and guide tube (again).

Since then I have had a small whine at low revs (audible up to about 2.5k) in the following scenarios:
- In gear clutch up
- In gear clutch depressed
- Neutral clutch up
- Neutral clutch depressed
- all of the above when moving and stationary.

At first thought it was worn gear bearings due to driving 300miles with a leaking gear box, but the fact it does it when clutch depresses confuses me. I also refuse to take it back to the garage as they seriously messed me around and are clearly incompetent.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Cheers
