I have a problem i think its the dmf, when i come off the accelerator and im just coasting in gear i hear a knock noise once in a while, theres no problems with engine or gears its just when im coasting and comeing off and on the clutch in first and second with very light power and off.

what could this be engine mount or dmf failing??

please help

These clowns on this forum never help anyone dude, so dont take it personal.
Their gonna say "oh theres treads of this topic" blah blah blah, yet they hardly send you any direct link on it.
but anyways, does the knocking sound come when your idling in neutral with your feet off the clutch ? if it does then its the Flywheel definitely.
I myself am waiting for my flywheel to arrive.
Mines makes the knocking sound when its in neutral and my foot is off the clutch. If I press the clutch in it stops.
So better off changing the flywheel the clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing and everything.

It happens when placing in gear like a quarter of a second later as if the plates moved taking up some slack, happens more when the cars cold, or when I'm off throttle in first or second just roling but that depends if I'm traveling on a level surface, If I am at wot no problems no knocks which leads me to the flywheel clutch being slightly loose to cause a slight knock as if the plates have some play in it. Of it was an engine mount would happen at wot.

I've read some previous threads but they make out a going flywheel sounds like Christmas bells I don't have that problem yet.

I had what was suspected DMF issues. A slight knocking sound and sensation through the pedal when releasing clutch to engage the gear. Happens on the flat or an incline, whether actually pulling away or just holding it on the clutch - just a feint knock.
DMF issues appear to have lots of varied symptoms and opinions if you look through old posts and the net, so I figured the best bet was to get an actual Vag specialist to take a look.
He decided after testing it was nothing to be concerned about and probably not the DMF. At the back of my mind of course im still concerned, but I am taking what he told me on face value until the symptoms get worse and then it may point more at something particular.

Any real need to take an attitude like that? At 2.30am I doubt many clowns are doing anything but sleeping. Well, maybe with one exception ;)

Mines doesnt sound like x-mas bells, it sounds more like a Helicopter hovering over my car.
I think you should get that checked out, or hopefully someone else on this forum could educate you a bit more on the issue.

lol, dont take it personal. :D
yes there is a wide span of time difference yes. I live on a Island (Curacao)
but I mean I've asked countless questions, noooo kind of help lol. :(
so I've learned to just educate myself on the VW Mk5 Forum or Audi A3 forums, since they both have the same engines as my FR.

SOLVED

Revo intake shield has been rubbing on the filter pipe making the knocking noise.

took the shield off the noise has gone, will have to make the pipe hole bigger to solve it

Mine has been making this same noise and I have a revo intake. So pretty buzzing now that there's not a big bill coming :)
