poly v belt

I have a leon cupra 2001 with the AUQ engine and air con . Does anybody know the correct part number for the poly v belt. On my car it is a double sided belt i.e ribbed on both sides - the dealer has sent me one ribbed on one side only and doesn't know the part number for my actual belt - even with my full chassis number!!!

06A 260 849C is listed

i think it's 6 ribbed and 1195mm long

although yours is double sided are you sure it needs to be? maybe been replaced with one in the past ?

i always thought they were one sided?

check the tensioner roller/s to see if they are smooth or ribbed

yes its definitely double sided - i think because it has air conditioning and power steering - the belt doubles back on itself . I have been sent part number 06A145933D . I went on VAGCAT.com and they make the distinction between power steering bels for cars with air con and cars without. The part number they list is 071145933F for an AUQ with air con
-- is this a SEAT part number?? any ideas?

i see what you mean by the routing as the AC and PAS are right above each other

1) 071 145 933F is listed AGZ no AC (1285mm)

2) 06A 260 849C is listed AUQ + AC Contibelt (1195mm)
2) 06A 260 849E is listed AUQ + AC Gates (1195mm)

saying that (old version) etka diagram in the diagram as the other way round like tehy are labelled incorrectly so could be an error - mmmmm

doesnt help that they list the belts under all 3 sections of steering / aircon / belts only

just looking at vagcat myself a self but it keeps crashing :(

thanks for the help - any idea which one I should plump for? the engine is "definitely"* an AUQ with aircon. I thought it would be a long one but the two AUQs you post are both the same length? plus cant think what "gates" would mean?

* as definite as anything can be when it comes to a SEAT

contibelt and gates are just makes of belt - means nowt really and still cant get vagcat up though which sucks

wont help much i guess but personally i'd remove the belt and measure the grooves and overall length or check for a part number ? but then i have keys to my own motor factors/workshop so fine for me :p sorry

fixed - the right belt was 06A 260 849 C for an AUQ engine with aircon and powersteering.- took this long to sort it ....in an unrelated problem now the aircon em coupling is f***d.
