Hi all, i've finally got the AYP block in my 2003 polo! There were a few delays in getting the parts but now most the mechanical work is done.
I went to see an exhaust company in birmingham, they have recommended a setup which i seen & heard in their S3 and it sounded sweet!
They recommend that i get 3" D/P (K04-023 remember!), then to 2.5", de-cat, 14" silencer, then to 2.25 and end with the back box at 2".
I heard the sound, its not loud at all until the turbo kicks in then you can here the pressure storming out the exhaust, it sounds real good!
Any ideas about that setup? Im thinking to go for it but dont wanna end up causing flow restriction.
ALSO (Craig & brembo Bill...) i still havent got the ecu sorted, i need help to decide quick!
My two options:
1. audi TT ecu (£100), TT wiring loom (£100), Immobiliser defeat (£150), custom wiring for clocks to work (£300), MRC on-road re-map, erase out from ecu: s.a.i, 2nd O2 sensor, etc (£500) map to around 270hp.
TOTAL COST: £1150

2. Link G3 Stand alone ecu. Fitted and rolling road mapped. not sure how much power to expect but roughly the same as OEM hopefully more.
TOTAL COST: £1400

Difference of £250, not sure which route to go!

ANY OPINIONS PLEASE!!

My Engine spec as follows:
AYP block
K04-23 turbo & mani
3" MAF
4bar fpr
S3 fuel pump
Blue injectors
samco TIP
Forge Split-r
large FMIC
Full exhaust (to follow)

Sorry no photos yet, i've ordered my new digi cam!! I'll take add some when it arrives.
Cheers

Hi I have sourced most the OEM parts i need now, gotta decide quick if i should go that route and buy them!
Im sure stand alone will produce better results power wise but its the other in-car functions i dont want to loose. The company said everything should work tho.
Yep my polo is the 9N, I got the engine mounts & subframe from the new polo gti 9N3.

I think atleast with the stand alone I have control over the ecu, i dont have to pay someone eveytime to remap it if i get any future upgrades....
