hi guys im new on here and have a polo gti at the min just wondering what every ones thoughts are on sellin it for a cupra and if theres any thing that i need to look out for
i'm guessing you mean the 6n2 mk5 1.6 16v with VVT? That was my last car...loved it to bits...but dont regret selling it one bit. The polo definately looks the nuts but because of the gearbox issues & the fact the engine is barely tunable it restricts performance big time. The price tag for the VW sign doesnt pay up for the gti
The cupra in every way is better than the polo imo....you get better reliability & performance (& more tuning ability) for a better price....the only downsides are the lack of extras e.g. xenons/heated leather seats...
my mrs ha a lupo gti, same entine etc, and i wouldnt even put it in the same class as a cupra, the cupra is a much better car! in a different league mind,
out of the 1600 hot hatches i put the lupo as top of my list!
well i think if the insurance isnt too bad thne ill be goin for the cupra as i want power reliabilaty handling and tuning potential so it fill it all really
I cant belive you got rid of your cupra for a polo. if it was a mk7 1.820vt one fair enough but those polo's are gash my mates got one and he's done a bit to it and it dont make no difference cams, exhaust system ect..
well i rang my insurance for a qoute and i need to make sure i have a cat 1 or 2 immobaliser on it and then its only 50 quid a year more to insure so im puttin the polo up for sale
The standard Cupra alarm system has the right specs to be cat 1, but even though it's got a higher rating on the thatcham website than the standard Ibiza they don't actually have the Cupra in the official list, just the Cupra R. Means it's pretty hard to convince insurance bods that it is cat 1!
Oh and get a Cupra, it's a no brainer compared to the olop gti
