pms dissapeared

Hey guys

I have had a pm dissapear from my inbox.. I know 100% I have not touched it or deleted it, but I go into it tonight to use the details in it and its just gone.

details are from a customer... and I am a little concerned this has just dissapeared without trace.

How can this happen?
The message thread after the missing one is there, but before hand its just vanished

the details are ones which aught not be sent by pm if you get my drift, so to go missing is quite worrying.

It can't unless you delete it yourself, we do have the power to purge PM's but we can't be selective, it's all PM's purged or non at all. It's certainly nothing we have done that's for sure.

In my opinion you shouldn't rely on the forum for storing sensitive information anyway, because from one day to the next you never know what might happen to screw it up. We take fairly regular backups of the database to hopefully limit any loss should the worst happen. But we can't and will never 100% guarantee it.

Another tip worth doing is scrolling down to the bottom of the PM page and exporting your PM's as a XML, CSV, or Text file for backup to your own local machine.

I'll ask Martyn to check everything is running as it should, but this is the first such occurrence we have heard of PM's mysteriously disappearing so I'm skeptical it's anything specific with the database or server.
