Recently had a front wheel alignment, I get a message pop on my dashboard every 2 minutes, I have cleaned the front & back sensors but the message & manoeuvre braking also pops up.

I’m also having the same atm. I do have some visible stone chip damage on the same sensor. I’ve not taken it into the dealer as yet as the rumoured price to sort is a few hundred… Like yours it indicates the same sensor, if of course thats indicative of the problem one.

I was going try see if I could unclip it through the grill when weather was better, tight but a little room to get fingers in. However, i’ve since discovered it does occasionally work, particularly on a cold morning when temperatures are around 0° or less. Can pretty call it before I get in the car. I have noticed through the grill I can see some of the wire sheath back slightly exposing the individual wires slightly, so wonder if a moisture thing instead of being as a result of the damage. I don’t know if this is normal though.

What’s that diagnostic scan done using?

From error I found Error this, but doesn’t convince me that the blame wouldn’t be on the stone chip in my case. Mine was working when I pulled on the drive after work, then not the following morning.

You managed sort yours yet? Managed get my sensor out through the holes in the front grill today and ordered replacement for £40 on eBay so will attempt to fit once delivered.

Obviously has a different error atm with missing sensor.

No I haven’t, I need to disconnect what I think the broken one is and swap it with another sensor on the otherside to see if it is actually that but I feel like that will be a job to take the bumper off.

From what I read if you take the bumper of you’re meant have it all calibrated. Does your grill have enough room get your fingers in to un clip? Was a bit fiddly but got there in the end.

The problem one will be one indicated. What I found is even though sensors don’t say they work at front, if you stick a little blue tac on them you’ll see this indicated on the other sensor.

Hopefully have this sorted now, by hopefully it had worked on occasions before, but usually on cold/frosty mornings.

Got the part off eBay <£40, is lots of sensors with similar part number but was the straight version on mine (not connector at 90°). Removed it first to be certain. The seller on eBay did contact me asking for VIN or Reg to ensure I was ordering correct item, which I guess was good. Also asked about colour, they offer painting for a fee.

Fiddly, but managed get the old sensor out by pressing the clips top and bottom using fingers inside the grill and a little push on the front. I’d advise to start with the top one first as it’s the more difficult, you can tell from the push on front if released, then move onto easier bottom. I used the hole highlighted to remove and put new sensor in. This is the Xcellence Lux ST/Estate grill.

There is the connector to unclip and wasn’t enough length on there to get through the grill with the sensor. The sensor has a rubber seal around, this came off on extracting but fortunately out the front. I saved this, however my new sensor came with one.

When putting the new sensor in, I attached the cable connector as close as I could to grill entry, I wanted reduce risk of dropping sensor inside. Once cable attached it was a simple place back in place. The connector only goes on one way.

I did check before fully pressing in that the fault was clear. Then pressed fully in and did some testing moving backwards and forwards towards garage door to make sure in sync with the other front.

Not the best image, but shows it back working (furthest from garage). Hopefully it remains this way and newer part is improved in resiliency (higher revision number)

Hope this might help someone else, as I could find much info to help me.

What I didn’t know was how/if I could remove the triangular insert, that may have made things easier. Did have a little try.

Glad yours is sorted!!, Kwik fit have told me they would take liability & cover the costs to get it fixed so it’s going to the SEAT 27th march, Kwik fit plugged in their computer and I believe the error code was “D50001” which was static & couldn’t be deleted.
