Phone boffins please help

Had my phone a while... the other day it bleeped and i got a symbol up on the display that i have no idea what it is.

ive switched the phone off and no change, also its not a message as that appears elsewhere?
not voicemail either.
any ideas and how to get rid of it?

im talking about the little blue envelope looking icon here?
it looks lkike the message icon but has a flat 'flappy bit like on an envelope) instead of a pointed one like on the message icon.

checked all message boxes and emptied most of them but the inbox but ive had a lot more messages in there than i have at the moment

might be easier to see a little smaller

nope draft messages are empty, and theres nothing in the calendar it could be either

I had a quick look on the net for any clues seen a few people say they have the same problem but I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to get rid of it, is there a factory reset option in the phone setting anywhere?

The guys who were bitching about it on the piece I saw said they had trawled the manual and it's not in there, dunno if it's a fault with the phone or not. But I would try a factory reset if possible matey.

Have you tried taking the battery out and replacing it, grasping at straws now though.

Has your phone got the Internet/WAP? Could it be something to do with that?

I know i had a funny icon, like a message with a World in it that appeared on my old Sony Ericsson T610 screen and it was something to do with downloading something from WAP?

just logged on to the wap and cant see how it could have gotton from there. i dont use wap at all and the icon just appeared one day, with a rather peculiar tone as well
