Petrol smell??????

Hello to 1 and all.

I'm new here after having recently bought a 20vt leon on an 02 plate. When I'm at a stand still i get a whiff of fuel in the cabin which is stronger still when the fan is on. Has anyone experienced this or got any ideas before i have to start crawling all over the fuel lines. Sorry to come straight in with a question but you know the way it is.....

Oh yeah, i forgot. I get about 145 mls off £20 at 93.9/L. Was expecting a bit better.

Last time i had that petrol smell it was because the missus had'nt put the cap back on right !!!

Could be the fuel filter, mine punctured the other week for no reason (maybe a stone hit it or something). Its underneath just back from the drivers door. Run your hand over it and see if there is any fuel on it.
