tbh it wont really matter what panel filter you go for, just a personal preference between cotton gauze (green, k&N etc) and foam (pipercross, bmc etc).

also I wouldn't go for a K&N one just because I have heard that they are quite oily (well the cones are!) and could cause MAF failure

Hi, I'm wondering if there are maintanence requirements for these green filters? I used to have a K&N panel filter on my old car and had a cleaner kit which was done once a year. is there something similar for green?

I have recently replaced my filter with the standard one, as the old one was pretty dirty.
Is it worth spending the extra and replacing with the green one or am I just best to wait till its due to be changed again?
Would it be extra money for not much point at this stage until it will be replaced next service.

The paper filters are just thrown out each service. I guess it'd take about 5 or 6 years to recoup the (small) cost of a performance filter. You won't notice a power increase - the nicest thing about it is it makes the turbo and dv more audible. I'd go for green/jetex cotton over k&n (oily) or piper (foam) if you can.
