The Sport model has the same 180 Bhp engine as the Cupra. AFAIK the differences between Sport and Cupra are entirely in the level of equipment/options. I don't believe there are any performance differences between the two cars.

If this is accurate, then I'm very happy :D There is a gorgeous Sport down the road from me, being sold by a garage with excellent after-sales service.. what's more, it's a good price!

I know that the very early Sports were different to the Cupra's - some were not DBW and therefore remapped to a slightly lower power figure.... I'd check this now though as I can't find many references to it. The engines as previously mentioned went through revisions - AUQ seems to be the most common engine code now :D
