P0401 egr flow insufficient detected, but what

Hi guys

My car (2004 150pd) has one fault code and the eml light is on.

It's P0401 exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected.

The car came to me with this fault, I cleared it and it stayed off for a few hundred miles, it then came back on. I fitted an Allard EGR delete kit and the light comes on and stays on if I reset it it, it comes back on the same day.

So what I'm wondering is, was the fault code up before because I had a blocked egr valve, and now I've fitted the delete the code is staying on because it's blocked off, or is there a fault?

Thanks

I know this is 10 years old, I have a similar car and have had this error code for a long time, I have only ever been able to reset it temporarily with obdlink it always pops back up, anyone figure out how to get it off permanently if it is not a serious issue need to get it through an MOT...
