Hi all!
My car is a 2.0 TFSI Seat Leon Cupra R bought in 2010 with REVO stage 1 remapping plus a wire air intake filter. I have the SPS device and I bought the Liquid2 device for monitoring purposes. I use high octane petrol.
My actual settings are B8/T6/F9.
It’s been 3 years now that I am getting fault code P0172 (“Fuel Trim,Bank1 System too Rich”). The car behaves normally and the fault code appears from time to time, I'd say not very often. I tried to figure out the circumstances under which it appears and it seems that I can do long trips putting pressure on the car without getting any fault code and all of a sudden P0172 re-appears, I would say mostly when driving in low rpm. P0172 even appeared when running on stock values.
My car has now 32K Kms (20K miles) on the odometer. I spoke to the dealer I bought the car from but I didn’t get any clear answers. The résumé was that “fault codes like this appear in remapped cars, it’s rather expected” and that “when you upgrade to stage 2 they will disappear”.
From a little search I have done I realized that it is difficult to find the cause and since the car behaves normally with lots of power reserves I didn’t go further till now. I just erase the fault code, when it appears, to avoid getting Check Engine Light alarms.
But since I’m thinking of upgrading to stage 2+, I wonder whether this would help diagnose or resolve the problem. I am afraid of ending up with all kinds of warning lights on, transforming my cockpit to a Christmas tree!...
Any ideas?
