Hi guys and gals. I need to replace my precat oxygen sensor on mk 2007 Ibiza tomorrow morning and need some help on how I go about doing it etc please? I have a 1.4 bbz engine so it's the sensor screwed into the manifold at the front of the car, I have a new Ntk one ready to fit tomorrow. Any help much appreciated! Cheers all

I thought that it sounded like you had worked this out, but, first remove the engine/air cleaner and get in and try to remove the fixings for the exhaust manifold heat shield - or at least be able to move it. Now next, I gave up getting in from above and went below and reached up with an open ended spanner to unscrew it - remembering to follow the lead back to the plug/socket and uplug it and unclip it first. I had two different makes of open ended spanners to make life easier as space was limited. Old one was not too tight, tighten the new one up in a similar manner, but clean off and keep the sealing grease away from the probe's sensor area. (the probe should come fully prepared for fitting).

Where did you buy the sensor from?

Mines due to be replaced, as RUM4MO knows :p, going cost £161 for the sensor from the dealership.

Thanks for help RUM4MO, I got the sensor from sparkplugs.co.uk and it's a genuine Ngk ntk one for £129.10 delivered.

I was looking at getting my hands on genuine oxygen sensor to change next weekend, the front one, like I said earlier, dealership want £161 for the sensor, and I have looked at www.sparkplugs.co.uk but I can't the genuine Ngk ntk one for £129.10?

Anyone point me in the right direction...

Have a look in the front of your service book or on your logbook it will be on them, it'll be either AUA, BBY or BKY. Let me know and I'll find it on spark plugs website and send u the link.

Thanks 27_craig. Got my hands on my service book, BBY! I'm going to have another crack at finding it on the website, will post if I find it...

EDIT: Had a look, I can only seem to find the 'rear' NGK oxygen sensor (£70ish).

I had the same problem a few years ago when trying to find a price for the first BBY NTK one, but I was looking for one for a 2003MY Polo 9N - I thought that I had found the correct one under Seat - but as you say, when I looked back in after reading some of this thread, I could only find the rear one listed, once 27_craig gets you that site's actual stock part number, maybe phone up your local Seat dealer for a price to make sure that the price is still okay.

Sorry the link didn't work! Anyway go on to sparkplugs.co.uk then select Ngk lambda sensors in the drop down box under plug lists, select make (seat) model (Ibiza IV) engine size (1.4i 16v) engine code (BBY,BBZ) year (02 on) position (front) and it should then come up as £102.18+ vat. The part number should be LZA11-V2. Please ensure you check your old sensors connector before ordering to make sure it's the same as the connector shown and make sure your old one is 5 wire. It should be spot on. Good luck!

Thanks 27_craig for the step-by-step guide! I found the front sensor with the part number LZA11-V2. Just ordered it, so hopefully it will be with me on Sat, or I will have to wait another week to change it!

Anyway thanks for saving me £30'ish!

It was www.lambdapower.co.uk that I had originally checked the price on a few years ago - and the dealer price was a lot less than you are getting charged now, then. Its good to see that its possible to make savings AND still get exactly the same part - just the plastic bag with VAG p/n on it missing!
