Hmmmm, very odd.
I can tell you for future reference that my 1.0 runs at about 80-90oC depending on the outside temperature (cold winters day, about 80, warm summer day about 90)
The pulling....got any noises, whirring or grinding? Had the gearbox oil changed recently? I ask because when I had my bearing replaced and gearbox oil changed, the car felt alot more eager - when you've only got a little bit of power, something small can be quite a noticable drag....
Didn't you have a problem with your brake switch too? Maybe something wasn't adjusted right and it is making the brakes stay on very slighty - are you noticing more brake dust?
It shouldn't need a cambelt change - thats every 40k so yours is well within time.
