Check your infotainment under System information -> Show all updates, though you should have received a pop-up message when it is available.

I'm clearly missing something because I have Cupra Connect with a 22 plate Formentor and I don't see any options for updating my old 1890 version.
It just pops on the car infotainment display, there's nothing shown in the app related to these updates. It maybe as you're quite close to 1896 you didn't get the OTA update, may be some info in other threads about which versions got the update.

Must have had an OTA update as yesterday when starting the car the 3 main widgets had changed to default, there were only 2 icons at the bottom of the screen, the others were + signs and my saved radio stations were all gone. I was still primary user though and everything connected (phone, wifi hotspot, android auto etc.) and all worked fine. I'm on 1940 btw.
Had a look and the only thing I can see is that the navigation database has changed from 23.6 to 23.7. I've had to put everything back to how I want it on the infotainment screen, no big deal but a but odd don't you think?

I've also had this twice.

I suspect it happens when you change some details on your Cupra Connect account, but that's no excuse to rebuild almost all the customisation. I do not have a live subscription so my latest maps is 21.11 from USB after being on 20.03.

I think the cloud profiles is a huge mistake on the part of WV having only spent 1 week with it so far. It's not just shortcuts, its all the buried settings which are potentially effected by a bad sync. I was thinking perhaps running in guest mode with maximum privacy i.e. close as possible to an "offline mode" without pulling the telematics module fuse out, would cure most of these vulnerabilities. Maybe the developers were never exposed to poor network conditions but the totalitarian design goal is really the main culprit, it's an engineering nightmare for what gain? Nobody is switching profiles to warrant this feature, I can only assume it's purely data harvesting.

This is a very confusing thread.. I think the software update of 1940 would only ever be done manually - eg. with a USB stick in the car.. You can do this yourself at own risk or get the dealer to do it .. if they will play ball with you... I think the OTA are smaller induvidual fixes...

However I am not totally sure as I see so many threads.. !!

A896 was a large OTA update which gave all sorts of dire warnings before starting (do not use car for next 30 mins etc.), it wasn't just a Update Settings - OK warning. Also available via dealer install, when it was then 1896. A896 allegedly bricked a few cars, maybe why they've not tried it since.
