Outside Temp Sensor Problem

Recently the outside temperature stopped being displayed on the LCD on the dash, and instead was a couple of lines.
This didn't really bother me too much, as I grew up in South Africa, so the temperature for me here is always cold!
However, I gave the car a good wash today, and now its reading -45c, with the sun shining!

Can anyone think of what might be causing this, and if a replacement sensor is needed, wherebouts on the car is it located, so I can pull the old one out and get a part number from it.

Cheers:)

The temp sensor is located in the front bumper. As you look at the front of the car, look at the right forlight. The sensor is just to the left of this. Its a black cylinder type thing which clips into the back of the bumper. You may be able to see it beter if you remove the trim round the fog light. It could also be the connection to it? Wait one, and ill try to find a pic...

Here is one;

Its the little black thing on the left wire. The left one is the fog light wiring. the front bumper was removed for this pic, but you should be able to get to it through the fog light cover (just unscrews and pulls out). Hope this helps :)

Sorted!
The clips on the connector had broken off at some stage so the wire had become disconnected, and was just floating around in the bumper.

Cheers!
