Orange light blinking ...

Hy! This morning on the way to office i noticed that at some moment one orange light came on blinking. It is like a symbol for a resistor, a spiral or something alike. I stopped the car, shut off the engine and started it again after. The light came on as usually initially (when most lights light up at ignition), then shut off togheter with the others and i set the engine on. Waited a couple minutes and the light remained off. Started to drive and a few hundred meters after the same light came on blinking again. The car seems to act normally (altough i drived inside city only, so no speeding above 50km/h).
Anyone knows what is that? I don't have the owner manual (second hand car ) and in the small leaflet I have there is no indication of what is that light for... Hope nothing major since i drove for about 4 km with that light blinking.
The car is a Cordoba Vario 1.9 TDI GT of 1999.
On the Cordoba Specific discussion area i was suggested it should be the glow plug light and that it might indicate some fault in brake lights, especially some switch. Looking up on Internet i found that it might be some sort of sensor not working and that the central unit has gone in failure mode and will remain like this till problem with sensor is solved.
Any advise is apreciated.

Thanks a lot,
Rumburak.

Yes thats the glow plug light,

The manual states :-

"If while driving a fault occurs in the diesel engine management system, this is indicated by the warning lamp flashing. The engine must be checked as soon as possible by a SEAT official Service Centre"

I checked now and found out the brake lights were not working at all. After checking all fuses and light bulbs decided the switch on the brake pedal should be the reason. I dissasembled it and gave it a clean on the contacts. Now brake lights works fine and after a test drive around the parking at the office the glow light seems not to flash anymore... Anyway I think I'll go get a new brake switch for the pedal from the dealer tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.
