Me too mate :)

Just awaiting confirmation of the original agreed price & an order now.

I did ask the question of Goodwill and that was basically SEAT's (VWFS) response.

May be on for MY19 changes at this rate.

I guess I'll be keeping this thread open for a while.

Its amazing all the variations on lead times....

When I ordered my Cupra 300 5d, 2 weeks ago I was told the current lead time for it was 12 weeks for a Leon and an extra 8 weeks for the cupra... so 20 weeks in total ....

however had a call yesterday to say it's being built in build week 14 (currently in 10) whether it got a cancellation slot or something I don't know ....

but ill take it.

Yeah, Shazam apparently.
Tbh I was comfortable with the idea of waiting for the digital cockpit.

Not sure the rest is worth the wait.

Ah yes Shazam, i had Spotify in my head but i knew that was wrong!

Although Alexa in car is a great tech advancement but would only be useful if u have smart home devices and not much difference between it, google assistant on AA and siri on car play.

Also if there will be updates to DC software to allow more functionality

@Lmbarrett83 - sorry to hear about your sh1t news!

I picked mine up on Monday. I'm very happy with it. The digital cockpit is great, could do with being a bit of a bigger image on the speedo screen but the screen quality is really good. I have a peugeot 3008 as well and it makes that look rubbish. One of the options on it shows the speed and the gear selected in cool font/graphics and shows the nav full screen on the display (where the speedo usually is). It looks really good so pleased I got this.

It feels flipping fast, I came from a golf R and its easily as quick if not faster when on the move. Love the handling as well, diff rips you around corners, steering feels nicely weighted in cupra mode and the suspension doesn't feel too pogo'y in cupra mode which is what some of the reviews say. Was expecting more pops and bangs from the exhaust though, it only does it when I blip the throttle whilst not moving. I'm sure some of the videos I saw on youtube it was doing it when people changed gear (mines manual). I've not taken it out of cupra mode yet. Its had a nice running in period of me hammering it everywhere in cupra mode. Oh and the seat sound is pretty flipping good too.

No news yet on Beats though? Starting to think the UK won't see this...

You'll be getting a Mk1 CUPRA Leon at this rate.

Could the dealership not source a new Leon with the digital cockpit and the options you want/need to get it a bit quicker:shrug:

Cheers mate,

It's good to hear it was worth holding out for DC.

The mk7/7.5 R was something I wanted but couldn't justify the spend on so that's also good to hear too. How are you finding the interior compared to the R you had?

With regards to the pops on bangs on the manual on standard setup it's seems quite hard to get any consistent pops. I've read somewhere that on downshifts you can get the odd sounds going from 4k-3k once warm but I'm going to have to wait to test that. I usually rev match so hopefully I can have some fun with that.

Happy motoring fella

Apparently not mate, they looked for a couple of weeks.

I was actually tempted to take the one that was delivered in my name, but I knew I'd be kicking myself later if did.

Really wanted the sunroof and SEAT sound.

SEAT CS didn't have it on their radar for the UK Leon other than on the R last time I checked.

I had Beats on an Ibiza I had as a courtesy car. I now have SEAT Sound on my Leon. I didn’t rate the Beats, it seemed flat and tinny, it lacked treble.

The SEAT Sound on the Leon is much better.

A cynical me would say that it’s the same system but tweaked (for the worse it would seem) and with a small Beats logo on.

Hi mate,

I know the Beats Audio (BA) has a more powerful amp than the Seat Sound (SS). I think the BA uses a 300W compared to the 135W in SS. Can't say if the speakers differ.

In the Ibiza I also think it's a 6 speaker system as opposed to 10, but it is a smaller car.

In other markets they are offering the choice of SS an BA for the Leon. BA being more expensive.

From other reports the BA is the better system for those who like bass.

Either way SS and BA are going to be much better than standard for my music tastes. At this stage I don't mind which one it is.

How are you finding the interior compared to the R you had?

Its fine. It is a bit plane and black and the seats aren't great, they're comfy enough but aren't really all that sporty and don't really hug you but its as good as the golf I reckon - the seats in that were pretty average too. The alcantara bits look good but not convinced on the carbon fibre'y type bits. Its a shame it didn't come with better seats, all hot hatches in the segment have better seats than the cupra I think and that makes it feel a bit cheap inside. Annoying when its made by SEAT - you'd expect a better SEAT. The steering wheel is nice though. Really good headlights as well, much better than my golf's were.

I had one of the earlier mk7 R's and it had no nav (i think all of them came with nav after a certain update that I missed) so with the Digital Cockpit it just all looks so much newer than my golf. Like I said the Seat sound is excellent as well so with that and the DC its a good place to be whilst driving. Really good you can have the sat nav on the speedo readout and keep the main screen for your music/radio. Think this is standard on the golf 7.5R now anyway though..

Its annoying the radar cruise isn't standard on the Cupra. I used that a lot with my golf. The cruise on this feels like a step back. I thought it might have it when I saw the big radar thing built into the front but I guess thats just for the auto brake alert thingy. I should've spec'd it really as it didnt cost much. Options on a lease just feel like a bit of a waste though to me.

Not yet, but to be fair he hasn't asked anyone. He was advised/warned at ordering by the broker that it would take between 23 and 27 weeks and this info was repeated in the order confirmation letter he received from the supplying dealer. IIRC he ordered on the 10th October.

Luckily he's in no great rush as his Xsara is still about 99% fully functioning and TBH it took him yonks to decide if he should buy a new car to replace it in the first place...

I rang the dealer on Saturday on Dad's behalf to enquire about a likely build date- or maybe even an already built date for his Leon.
They said they'd ring back - but didn't. Not until this morning anyway, when the salesman announced that he could have the car this coming Saturday(!)
He was so surprised when he took the call that he forgot to ask when it was delivered to the dealer, (I'm assuming it turned-up this morning) and what the reg number is/will be: rolleyes:

For the interest of others with Leons on order, his car is, (hopefully) a modest 1.2 SE Dynamic Tech 5 Door Hatch in standard Med Blue with 3 options of Parking Assist with Rear Camera, Folding Front Passenger Seat and Electric Folding Door Mirrors. Order was confirmed as placed by the dealer on 13th October 2017.

Done my first 1000 Miles now (going to have to increase the mileage on my agreement ).

Love the car! I didn’t think I would as I didn’t want to get rid of my old Leon SC. I had a rocky start with a few rattles here and there but I blame them on the cold weather, they appear to have gone now, touch wood.

Fuel consumption is great, according to the Fuelly app it’s averaging 44mpg over the past 3 fills (first one not added). Much the same as my old Leon which was great on fuel too. Mainly used it for my 25 mile commute starting off with hilly country lanes, then onto 50mph A roads, M25, then the horrible 40mpg average speed zone on the A217 and finally a couple of miles around town at the end of the commute.

I have a long drive coming up soon so I’ll post back with how I got on.

Interestingly, I’ve been holding onto gears longer, despite the OBD telling me to change up. This has kept the ACT active and as far as I can tell resulted in better MPG. Quite often, if I change up as per the OBD the ACT will disengage as the revs are too low (have to be above 1400rpm for ACT).

I checked my tyre pressures today and the dealer had inflated them to a whopping 46psi so I’ve put them back down to the recommended ones.

I haven’t thrown the car around much yet. I’ve recently moved and I’m not familiar with roads. However, when I go back to my parents in a week or so where I know the roads, the sport mode will be going on!

After all my waiting so far I still don't have a car on order.

The dealership is trying to get SEAT to honour the price from the original PCH that was agreed last October.

The price has since increased to £271 pcm.

He is unable to order the car until he can confirm the pricing.

Are dealer's able to fast track orders at all?
My current lease which was originally a 24 month deal may end up being closer 3 years at this rate.

Trying to work out where I stand with regards to having to replace tyres, brake pads and such. As if my car had been delivered I wouldn't have needed to.
