its just you were saying use millers xf longlife 5w-30 and then said about using millers sport 4, after i mentioned flushing the engine. so i was confused as to what you meant.

ah

yeah i googled it last night and realised id been a doughnut. i did find this on my autodata disc though that it said use a longlife 506.1 0w-30 fully synth. presumabably this is because my disc is from 2006 and theyve gone back to using 5w-30 oils as ChrisGTL mentioned.

does some of the oil get stuck in the oil cooler, is there even one on these cars? will i need a 1ltr top up, as i make it 5.2ltrs total. or like my 850 will it usually not quite take all the oil before reaching the max mark.

yep theres deffo an oil cooler, theres even on on the non TDIs but its half the size. Its located directly underneath the oilfilter housing, a square metal block. Not just for cooling but also for helping speed up the warming up of the oil in cold climates.

And no, no oil gets stuck in this, i have changed one before and it was empty.

Went to the main dealer to day for a service kit and they said that they use 5/30 in the pd engines and charge £14 a liter which i think is a lot of money.

Hello

I wonder if someone can help me with something, I recently purchase a 2006 Ibiza Cupra TDI 118 KW with a BUK engine that is advised to use a engine oil with the spec VW506.01, but in all maintenances the dealer use an oil REPSOL ELITE 5W40 with the spec VW505.01, so I think…. This car replace always the oil every 7500km and make maintenances every 15.000km`s…..
Could it be possible the engine have problems due to the appliance of this spec VW505.01?

In your case I'd suggest not. The oil they used was a pd engine specific oil, and it was changed every 5k miles, twice as often as required. It was a slightly thicker viscosity grade than Seat require but at least it was specific to the vag engine, and Repsol make a decent oil anyway.

ok, thanks for your answer

i only say that because all the maintenaces invoices of the oficial dealer have the oil to cheap... like 60 € each 5 liters..... and i know that a VW506.01 costs about 100 €, but i`ll go to see what the dealer have to say about it.

Thanks
