Hi all

I know this has come up before but this is really annoying me now. My engine oil warning light keeps flashing and beeping at me whenever the temperature is below about 3 degrees when I start the car in my LCR.

I know this has happened to other people. Please can someone tell me how to sort this out! the oil has been checked and is fine. This happens most mornings at the moment.

Cheers. :)

The coolant light i take it you mean? Check the coolant level. Also try and scrape the prongs that go into the coolant apparently they get a bit furred up and the collant thinks its empty! Resolved the problem for me!

Thanks peeps - yes exactly the same as that thread. I'll give the prongs a good clean which will hopefully stop it.

Hey guys

Hehe just trawled through all the history of this, can't believe I started a new thread on it!

Right - this cleaning worked but now it has started again. Question is does anyone know how close to the line the coolant has to be before the sensor kicks in and starts beeping?

Mine is a good 2 cm above and it is beeping all the time again - even in 8 deg weather and I am reluctant to top it up any more in case I overfill it!

Don't over fill it there are marking on the side on how much to fill, and that depends if the car is hot or cold iirc.

Might need a new coolant bottle as the sensor is built in.
