Oil Sensor Fault

Hi everyone,

I have just probably made the best/worst decision of my life and purchased a 21 plate Formentor VZ2 310. Loving the car so far, less loving the dealership experience, even less loving the faults that have occurred over the last two weeks.... Most have been software glitches, which I am generally not too bothered about, but anything drivetrain related this early on is a concern.

Has anybody else received this fault before? It should be pretty minor, but I really don't want persistent mechanical issues to become a feature of the car... It would be a shame, as I feel it is the best compromise between practicality, design and performance.

This came up on my mk4 leon the other day. I checked the dipstick and it was showing bang centre of the indicator, topped up just under half a litre and the light went.
Then randomly the next morning the car a small software update which it installed on the drive to work.

I did check the dipstick, and it looks totally fine level wise; I don't have any oil to top it up with at the moment, will pick some up at a dealer. As I am finding though, it seems to be totally random as to whether the car has an issue with it. Sometimes I can drive all day without it appearing, only to find it pop up after a short journey later in the day; sometimes it will just clear randomly; it is just really annoying...

It is going back to the dealer for it to be investigated in a week or so; but I'll be honest, if they can't diagnose the issue I am tempted to go and hand the keys back; I understand these things happen, but after two weeks; I expect the car to just work
