Good, at least you realise that it's the correct light.

Could be dodgy sender, could be dodgy wiring, could be blocked pick up in the sump.

Is there oil getting to the top of the engine, is it wet looking through the oil cap?

has it been regulary serviced? a common problem used to be the pick up pipe/strainer got blocked. keep your eye on things. check the oil level, get it diagnostic checked for any faulty sensors if it says on then make sure you dont carry on running the engine. you could cause some serious damage. i once scraped an engine in a golf which the oil pump failed, it starved the top end then the crank. a thrust washer droped out of the crank, then when the clutch was pressed it was moving the crankshaft side to side, wearing the block away. hope this hasnt put the frighteners on things but just keep an eye on things and maybe get a good garage to check it out

The sensor on the bottom of the sump is an oil level and temperature sensor. The oil pressure sensor is screwed in to the oil filter housing, and everybody has one of them.
