oil for EA888 engine Cupra 300

what are people choosing these days? so much choice!! I tend to stick to shell, castrol or petronas

am not a fan of long life and always do every year or 6-8k miles. whatever comes first.

it's a road car and not used on track. my m3 v8 gets new oil after every two track days!! could be over kill but new oil is always good.

is it 5w30 or 5w40? or does it not make much difference.

502.00 or 504.00??

I use 5w-30 504.00 in our two Leon Cupra 2018 310hp and 2019 300hp (mine and my sons). Last time MOBIL 1 ESP 5w-30, sometimes Castrol Long life III 5w-30. I change more often than LF interval says !

Personally I use Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W 40 but that is because I have a heavily modified engine and spend a lot of time on the track.

I spoke with Opie Oils who used to be a sponsor of the site and they recommended this due to my setup and usage.

However when I was running stage 1 (375 bhp) I just used 5W 30 but I agree with @TheSwede in changing oil more frequently than service intervals recommend (Normally like you after 2 track days or more often if I am doing a lot of track work (end beginning of season))
