I can't remember what make the filter was but it wasn't a genuine seat part. For the price they charge I'm having my oil changed more often so the non-genuine filter shouldn't cause a problem.

My oil requires VW 506 00 or better spec and I can't find anywhere that sells it for under £30

Sump on a Leon is 4.5L and the castrol edge 5W-40 is sold as 4L. I paid £45 for 4L, +£15 for the extra 1L needed, £7 for champion oil filter, so cost me £67 and fitted myself.

They cant be doing it at £28, even if they used cheap oil let alone Castrol Edge, dont garages charge on average about £40 p/h for labour ?

They did mine for £30.60 thats 4.5l castrol edge 5w30 VW 507 00 spec. Oil & filters in bulk will be a fraction of what you've paid. Like I said earlier they do it at a loss to get you through the door when they can find 'faults' with your car. I can recommend Huddersfield, been a few times and they never tried to sell me anything else

The filter is a unipart one.

I watch mine getting done and everything is above board. :)

Nothing stopping you taking it for a 99p test and if/when it fails, sort it and take it somewhere else that does it for £30

Also worth mentioning that National may charge for undertray removal/refitting although they haven't charged me as yet. Was told it would be £10 so about £1 for each screw - suppose they have to try to make some money back in other ways. Even at so an oil & filter change for £40.60 is still cheaper than I can get the oil for
