Oil advice

I have done a search but got confused with the numerous threads.
I think I am due my 90k service, last one at 80k. On my receipt for oil it states AMD put 5 30 in but I am sure when I spoke to AMD they said the receipt was wrong and they had used 10 40 semi synth.
I have a new 10 40 Magnetec incase it needs topping up but the majority of treads say use fully synth. What are the downsides if I continue to 10 40 (if that is indeed what's in there)

There has been lots of threads about this i know!!!! Your car (looks like the LCR 210) is defo 504.00 longlife service which is 5w 30 grade motor oil

I use castrol edge 5w 30 in mine as it is made for modern vw audi engines.

Hi

mine is a 210 with stage1 Revo. I always thought it was 530 which is why I don't get why the guy at AMD said they put 1040 in. Is 1040 a deff no-no? Is there any way of checking the oil to see if it is 1040?
