OBDeleven modifications

Torque limit is still in place (I believe this is done via the brakes). Re VAQ changes, I was just looking to up the clamping force (i'm a mechanical guy, not a coding guy!) to make the diff more aggressive (similar to changing the ramp up on a plated diff).

Yes the Torque limit is done via brakes, afraid the only changes I have seen to the Diff (and XDS) are via coding (which I suspect does what you want) but not seen anybody doing it via any other means. The DSG Box I know you can buy more aggressive clamping clutches but all the tuning companies I spoke with said that this was not required for road cars.

One other bit of information that may help you @paddy6789 provided us all with some great documents on the Leon so check out these https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/leon-mk3-official-seat-workshop-manuals-link.442353/ there may be something there that will help you.

Sorry cant help you more.

Cheers! I don't suppose you have the coding to make the changes available do you? Might see if I can make sense of the inputs/outputs to the coding!

Dont think this will help you as its all in Control Module speak rather than actual physical components and torque settings, these are all pre defined in the Firmware I suspect.

Select Control Unit 32 Lock Electronics - This is the onboard control unit that deals with this part of the car
Select Adaptations - This is the type of change we are going to make (there is more than one type of change)
Then take Acoustic measure, wiring logic - This is the component description issued by VAG Team
It should be set to Standard but you can change it to increased Traction from the drop down list. - This is what we change to improve the settings or take them back to stock if required

Save with Green Tick.

Then Select Basic Settings in the same module and run resetting of all adaption values. - This is part of the process to make the changes stick in the control module.

Thanks for the detailed answer, makes sense to me!
Also another quick one; is ASR the torque limiter?

Honest answer is I don't know, there is a specific coding fix for the brakes that stops them being applied in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when the car detects wheel spin but I think the ASR does not than just that as there is separate coding to disable both ESP and ASR on the car permanently rather than just using the on screen buttons.

UPDATE according to the car manual

ESC includes the Anti-lock brake system (ABS), the brake assist system, the traction control system (ASR), electronic differential lock (EDL), electronic self-locking*, selective torque control* and tractor-trailer sway mitigation*. ESC also helps stabilise the vehicle by changing the torque.

So all these things are tied in with each other and there are certainly many brake changes to turn off the nanny hand holding when guys are on the track.

Long story short.... You change starting vibration reduction and torque limitation in ABS module (deactivate them). If you want full control over the car and eliminate nannies you push (for 3-5 sec.) ESP button to deactivate ESP completely. Having this done you can burn (if you want) the tires from standstill and no brakes are applied. The disadvantage is if you need to have good skills on throttle modulation, otherwise you just burn the tires:)
When it comes to the module 32 and differential locks i used to drive with increased traction settings, but recently changed to reduced noises, because on daily drive i feel less jerky gears changes (Stage 3- 430KM/520NM).

XDS i have now set to medium, but in the past i had strong or weak. It depends on my mode :) I couldn't change straight ahead break stabilization if i remember well due to the incorrect access code. Do you now by chance what security code works for Straight ahead brake stabilization?

Yes XDS I am the same, I will start looking for access code and will feed it back here if I find it.

OBD11 does have a code finding app so I might give that a go.

another topic VCDS related. Are you able in your cupras do output test in module 32 for differential haldex pump? When i wanted to do this and pressed start the message is: "not running". Are there any prerequisites needed?

Dont have vcds, but OBD11 Gives the following live data on control unit 32

Analysis 3
Analysis 4
Can output signal(s) status
Checksum calculations
Clutch temperature
Control module temperature
Cooling fin temperature
Data logger triggering
Difference front axle speed
Driving profile selection
Duration of overtemperature
Front left wheel speed
Front right wheel speed
Haldex clutch pump current
Haldex clutch pump PWM signal
Haldex clutch pump voltage
Haldex clutch status
Left rear wheel speed
Reset counter
Right rear wheel speed
Roller test bench mode, functinal
Security Access: number of invalid keys
Standard - ambient data 1
Status of actuator test
Status of basic setting
Voltage terminal 30
Pump_Calibration_Values
Upper Limit of Temperature Duration.

And output test

Haldex clutch actuation

Looks like we've got to the bottom of why it won't work.

Hi,

Is there anybody either in or around Worcester with OBDEleven who would be able to make a couple of changes to my Cupra (300 SC DSG)?

Happy to swap for a few beer tokens :)

Sorry according to my records there is just the one output test (listed above).

I will go double check.

Confirmed on my 2014 car there is only one output test

Haldex Clutch Actuation

Not to say there is not more on VCDS but i dont have any more on this module.

Hi guys I hope someone can help me. I used my obdeleven ages ago to code a lot of things on my Cupra but the only one that’s having problems is the traffic sign recognition. Every time I drive the car after about 5 mins it comes up ‘dynamic road sign display currently restricted’ even though it still works as it should it picks up all speed signs and puts them on the screen. Any way to stop this error from coming up?

@aaaa_kk afraid there is no way to stop this. You have i suspect a MIB1 Unit (as do i) which does not have the correct communication with the cars systems so that the system basically tells you after a pre set time that it is not getting info from the sat nav.

i Have not seen any cure for this.

If you are on a MIB2 Unit you can get the same error because you are driving on roads that your Maps do not recognise.

Yeah mine is a 2015 model so it has the MIB1. Ah that’s annoying! So weird since it works perfectly before and after flashing up the error! Guess I’ll have to just deal with the error coming up every time, or turn it off again. Thanks for that.

Yes very annoying it would help if we could turn off the sound but i have not found any way of doing that yet either.
But as you say still works I have learnt to ignore the message.
