No it's not this thread is about 02M LSD's.;) So i continued the theme by asking about gripper and kaaz diffs. Does it matter which code of box they are for?

Well there $995 for the diff + $149 for the bolts

It's costing £399 + VAT for the GB recondition + any bits that need replaced.
So not really going to get much changed from £2,000

How the wavetrac diff feels

As the searching system seems to have been sorted, cheers mods for your effort on this, I thought I should update this as I now have this fitted and have had a track day with it on.

So as I had stated I got this fitted to a spare gear box that I bought that came from a Leon Cupra.
This was done by Stealth racing.

I have done 3 track days at Knockhill in Scotland, two without the diff and one with.

Now I was expecting there to be a big difference but didn't really know how this would show itself on the corners both tight and sweping.

I turned up at the day with the usual sort of cars there, EVO's Skylines Civics etc etc.

There was a few VERY well sorted Civic EK9's, one in particular a SiR JUN engined one.
This was stripped out, caged with plated diff and coilovers so almost as well sorted as one gets. I'm not up to speed with the output of the engine but its in excess of 190 BHP. He was 2 up and so was I so level playing field.

So my car handling set up again for those not fully up to speed with my car:

- KW V3 coilovers dropped 20-25mm
- MK4 R32 23mm front ARB
- Neuspeed rear 28mm ARB setted to the stiffest setting and recently refitted with new bushes and drop links.
- S3 front upper strutt brace
- R888 front tyres and GYE F1 asymmetrics rears
- Stripped out
- OEM map.

Initially on heating up the tyre laps the diff felt good, real good.
My car has always felt REALLY good on the track, the mods seem to work very well.
I was initially worried the cars TCS would have a fit and mess about with the diffs business but on switching off the ESP there was no interferance what so ever.

So with the tyres and brakes up to temperature I find the Civic welded to my bumper, admittedly I was having more fun than concentrating on getting fast lap times. After a few laps it seemed quite equal but its very difficult to tell how close it is with someone behind you, the only way to tell is when there infront and you have to follow them.
So I pulled over and let him past.
Then for 6 laps I was WELDED to his bumper.
If I wasn't having so much fun and time was ticking to the session finishing I would have went into the pits to drop the tyre pressure as I was getting a bit of understeer, then I would have pushed him round the track and passed him.

If you have never driven the car before you would never know there was a differential in the gear box. It's operation is 100% seamless, unlike what has been said about the Quaife/Peloquin ones. These have said to be snatchy and your aware of when the diff is doing its bit.
When the nose of the car would usually have washed out wide, you get used to this, it just dug in.
Where the steering wheel was pointed the car went.
If you've gone from OEM suspension to a good coilover package with ARB's its like that all over again the directness of the steering
You thought the handling was good with the coilovers and ARB's, its nothing compared to what it's like with a diff.
An LSD'd gear boxed car will walk away from a 100% matched car without an LSD.

The way it plants the power in the tar is awesome.

Alot of mods your a bit like......well.......I think it makes a difference.

With the Wavetrac diff your in no two minds

There is some back lash/slack or slopp in the mechanism, I persume this is the teeth of the gearing connecting.
This sounds like its normal

Not too sure when I'll make it on the track again.
I work away from home so cannot be sure when I'll make another one.
As soon as I can I will
