Now at Stage 1

well i sit here typing this post while bluefin downloads the stage 1 software, i sent the unit back on tuesday, paid for it wednesday received the handset back at 9.30 this morning, I then connected it to the car at 3pm this afternoon, uploaded the file to superchips at 5.35 and went out to move the car, at 5.40 i received a text to say the new file is ready to download and here i sit waiting for it !!!

Fantastic service as always from superchips, I think I have some pictures of how to use bluefin so if there is any requirement I might be able to put together a quick how too if there is any interest.

So what's your 1st impresions Steve? I'm going for Bluefin on my Cupra in December, so only 4 months to wait.

I'm going to the Motorscope Rolling Road a week on Saturday with some of the other members on here. It will be interesting to see what figures I get for a standard car.

I look forward to your report on the remap.

Cheers

Yes that's what I'm hopefully expecting between 250 - 260. Most Cupra owners have seen this on their standard spec.

I will attend another RR day next year once I'm been Bluefinned.

Great news Steve!

I think we all know by know that most stg 1 maps will give between 285 & 310 hp depending on the car and other mods.

The Superchips stg 1 is a very soft map though and you'll really only feel the difference above 5krpm, unlike the stg 2 which you can feel massively from 2.5krpm.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the stg 1!

I think stage 1 is enough for me at the moment, it certainly goes when above 4500... in fact its a little too quick before you know it your travaling faster than you should be. It does seem to have made the low speed drivability a bit better as well.

I agree. In standard form the power is enough for my needs, I just want to extract a little more power out of my Cupra.

Bluefin should be more than enough with at least 30 - 40 bhp power increase and similar torque increase.

its worthwhile doing the mod, as mentioned the extra power is noticed higher up so for normal driving there is very little difference, but it is smoother. Its definatly worth doing stage 1, I think i'll change the exhaust soon as i'm sure its got a leak around the bracket near to the tailpipe.
