Nice car. Like the wheels and the ride height.

Not keen on the rear lights, the rear window strip or that chrome addition listed above there though. Makes the quality car look "cheap" IMO.

Have to say though that I have been in a few of these cars and I love them. The interior and build of an Audi is far better than that of a SEAT.

cheers for the comments guys, good and bad are welcome alike:)

everyone is entitled to an opinion, and thankfully we live in a democracy with freedom of speech:)

still got a few bits to do, but will prob wait til after xmas now :(

first on the list will be window deflectors, the Audi has a really annoying habit of pi$$ing water through the driver's window when open !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

been a while now.............not much happened due to all work and no play :(

had a few bad luck issues recently, put a new battery in due to a couple of "laboured" starts and use of jump leads over the winter, but that's just a bit of routine stuff and the joys of owning a used car!!

my rear brake pads wore down, and because i was too stubborn and stupid to replace them, eventually the inevitable happened!!

was driving to work and stopped to re-fuel, having decided to be nice as the forecourt was busy, i pulled off the pumps and parked in a bay to go in the shop and pay. On reversing out, i heard a curious "clink". On getting out of the car, i was mortified to see what was left of my brake shoe laying on the tarmac!!!!!!

Needless to say, the damage was already done:( after the lovely AA man arrived, dismantled the rest of my mangled brakes and took me home, it was the task of finding new parts and quickly!!

as the pad fell out, the piston popped out of the caliper and grabbed hold of the disc, seizing the rear wheel!

eventually, having given the make, model, reg number and chassis number to a supplier, the new parts were quoted and told in stock.

on arriving, a gave them the quote number, and a guy arrived with all the parts i had ordered.

245mm discs for various fitment
brake pads for a mk2 golf
caliper for an audi a4 <2000 :wtf:
took about 45mins-an hour or so to finally convince the guy that the caliper he had given me was not the same as the one i had in front of me for exchange!!

the part number/chassis number/model year did not match so i'd have thought it quite simple??????
eventually, we agreed on a part that looked the same on screen, had the same year/chassis model match etc but was cinsiderably more money :(
then came the crunch
" sorry sir, we don't seem to carry this part in stock"

what a waste of a day!!

a week later, and an agreement that the correct part would be supplied at the previously agreed price of the wrong part, i had all the bits needed to get my car mobile again :)

Easy job, changing discs and pads :)

2 1/2 hours later, i'd managed to undo 3 nuts!! along comes the misses with a can of WD40 and 10 mins later, 1 side is done, complete, wheel back on and off the jack.
the other side took about 20 mins, including fitting the new caliper :) :)

having been quite satisfied with myself for my handywork, (should have been 2 hours max - yet took 1/2 a day) decided to clean the car after it's 5 month winter toll without a wash!!

all the shards of brake pad/disc had ground themselves into the paintwork along with the salt/grit and general road cr@p, so 2 days of cleaning/clay-barring and more cleaning followed and hey presto.............i have a silver car again :)

then the real crap started :(

i obviously managed to p1$$ somebody off, coz i came out of work to find the dirtiest keyscratch down my door !! was proper fuming!!

No way was it an accident, about 2 foot long, very wide, very deep and jagged edged that would suggest a blunt instrument such as a carkey ?!?!?!?!?

having been more than slightly p!$$ed at that, last weekend.............

finished work at approx midmight on the saturday

got up Sunday morning to go back to work, first thing i noticed was that some thieving barsteward had nicked my alloys!!!!!!!!!!!

if that wasn;t enough, someone had nicked my drivers door mirror too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stupid tw@ts snapped it off it's housing, thus only taking half it with them

the annoying part is, from Audi, the replacement is over £200 inc VAT, and that's in primer!!!!!!!!!!!

hopefully luck will change, and new things will start to arrive :)

looking on the bright side of life........just before the mirror was snapped, i put him in for MOT and he passed straight through with only 1 amber:)
lucky as i realised i actually forgot to put him in a year ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
