My 57 plate FR TDi makes a weird noise just after the engine has fired up. It's difficult to explain, but it sounds like an electronic squeal for about a second then it stops.
I had it into the stealer and he hadn't heard it before so started up another FR to see if the noise was normal, which it wasn't! The stealer changed the N75 valve, but this has made no difference

Any Ideas? as it is doing my head in!

I thin kI might have heard it a few of times - kind of like a fan belt slipping but a bit higher pitched and only lasts at most a second?

its the answer to your woe's. Had the same noise on mine and this fixed it.

You will probably find that if you hold the revs at about 1800 then let them drop you will hear the noise again.

Not too sure if this is the same as my problem. My noise only happens just after the engine has fired up when starting. The dealer changed the N75 valve but this didn't sort it. The noise I get is more of an elctronic sounding high pitched squeak lasting about a second.
