the turbo itself whistles mate.if its not a nice steady whistle or fluctuates when your on the gas then you may have a leak some where.but thats what turbos do,its a turbine, spinning at fook knows what rpm
im aware turbos whistles ive had **** loads in the past, but the noise is like its ttto much for the speed its going if you know what i mean could some one reply at least if they know something about these cars thanks

what cars have you had and can compare it too?the ibiza has a fairly small turbo and runs a smallish amount of boost as standard, this gives it very little lag(2k rpm iirc). its hard to describe i know but a bit more info would help.
not all of us are taking the piss btw
Is the car remapped?
Does it only happen if you floor it from low revs? Try 3-3.5k on.
I'm thinking it's cavitation 'harmonic resonance caused by the air flow being disrupted. This is happening due to a lack of volumetric effeciency either on the compressor side or the turbine side of the turbo, as we know these turbos are limited by the intake and outlet to and from them'
Is it a screeching type sound?
Whats the mileage on the car ??? or even....... how much mileage has that turbo done !!! do you know - as turbo come towards the end of there life they gegin to get a bit louder.
