Graham, I'm starting to think that the picture in your avatar is not yours, and that you are in fact a 15 year old sat in your bedroom in your parents house. I can't believe that anyone who owns a car would keep coming out with questions and ways to throw away good money after bad like you do, especially if you are selling the thing like you said you are, just the other day.

Its one thing to ask questions to further your knowledge, and indeed this forum is full of very knowledgeable people willing to help, but I think you're just making this crap up.

Looking at his posts he does seem to own this car. Dont think he is insured under his name though ,which does make me think he is a spotty 17 year old.

but rather than taking the mik, (sorry Mik) we should tell him WHY bouncing off the limiter is a stupid thing to do....
Why lowering, putting 18's and a shortshifter on a car is a daft idea if you are ALSO looking to put a two bar on it
Why self-tinting lights, WRC spoilers and a Magnex Twin 3.5" Round back box should be bought AFTER you sort the engine managment light flashing....

We need to HELP this kid, rather than chastise him....

What you need is an old car. My mates mk1 golf gti had a mechanical limiter and it was like a machine gun when he hit it. You'd love it. Sometimes he even got flames out of the exhaust.

 You dont help yourself by asking random questions, why would you want to sit on the rev limiter anyway, you will just sound like a nob, unless you got a vtec that loves the limiter I see no point taking it there , but hey each to their own and all that.... :drive2:
Carry on doing your handbrake turns !!

There's plenty of people on here happy to help but you must realise that these people also love their cars and starting a thread like this suggests that all you want to do is rag yours to death. That's why people have responded in the way they have.

:sensible hat on:

if you after a specific controllable limiter try OMEX they do a variety of choices inc some with sequential shift lights and launch control in clubman spec

http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/

iirc the 1.6 has a default limiter built into it anyway but im not going to tell you to test it :) all i will say is the 1.6 isnt that bad a car once you get it revved up a bit so i dont blame ya for looking at limiters - they go well once they are wound up and a lot lighter and agile than some would like to think - impressed me when i drove one

but as davidol says expect to be £100 or so lighter

fl@pper your missing the point. this guy clearly does not care about what his limiter does, just purely for the sound of it.
