No power to stereo

Can anyone help - awoke today to find my battery flat when I went to start it (I have a 2.0 8v GTI by the way), turned the stereo off to to conserve a bit of power when I was trying to turn the engine over. Got it jumpstarted in the end but since then there seems to be no power going to the radio. It is the factory standard one and it won't turn on and the security light on the front isn't flashing. The battery if fully charged and the fuse hasn't blown... Any ideas???!!! (I don't really want to/ cant afford to just replace it)

IIRC, there's no inline fuse in the wiring loom, but if it's the Seat branded Grundig unit fitted to Cupra Sport models (roughly 97-99), if you pull the stereo out of the dash, there's a blade fuse on the back of the unit in additon to the main fuse in the fusebox that supplies several other circuits.

ibiza_95 - from your post, it isn't clear whether you mean the fuse is integral or an inline fuse in the wiring (pictured):

That's why I posted - to clarify. You see, you young whippershappers may not recall this but back in the day, car radios had internal fuses hidden away inside them. As the radio was usually not a standard item, no supply would be provided for one from the fusebox. Thus a feed would be derived from somewhere else, either added into an existing (fused) circuit or a separate feed direct from the battery. It was common practice to add a seperate inline fuse like the one pictured above. It's only really in the last 15 or 20 years that car radios have been standard equipment and manufacturers have provided wiring for them. And it's considerably more recent than that since the connectors have been standardised to the two 8 way idiot clips used by most (but not all) radios that we know and love today...

If not, I've got the standard radio that came with mine + a Grundig 6-CD multichanger which I'd be prepared to listen to (low) offers for...

Not wishing to disrespect anyone's intelligence, but one thing I have learnt from forums is that "obvious" is a questionable concept - what is obvious to me may not be obvious to someone else. Hence it always pays to be clear.
