Hi everyone

Thought I'd say Hi, I’m on the hunt out for a Leon FR TDI CR... Need to replace my Vauxhall Astra VXR which proving quite difficult with a new born baby, I need a 5 door car!!

Seen a few Leon FR's at some garages. Just a few questions

Any extras a must have?

Can any extras be added on afterwards

Any Problems I should know about the FR CR?

Thanks Guys

Hope to be a regular here

My parents have just moved down the coast and with the otherhalfs family up Lincolnshire way I fancy more than 30mpg now

not sure on the options, the only real one to look out for is the bluetooth, just becasue it brings the highline computer and allows you to change a few things. 18's are nice but you can retro fit, xenons are nice to have too, again you can retrofit most things its just that its not always straight forward and can sometimes be expensive. I would suggest a CR with 18's and bluetooth would be all you should aim for. Hope you don't miss the vauxhall too much, they get slated by the press when thay arn't all that bad.

Can xenons be fitted then? As I can't see any FR's used with them. :-(. I have them on the Astra so would like them on the Leon

i'm sure there is a post on here about someone retro fitting them, its not easy or cheap but can be done, if you do go down that route its probably best to find an FR with the winter pack so that you have the washer jets already installed.

Hi Richard

I've done 8,000 miles in my FR CR now and not had any issues, it is a great car and you will not be dissapointed. Just don't believe you will get the stated fuel economy. I average about 42mpg which is a long way from the combined 53.3mpg figure, but i do either drive in traffic or with my foot to the floor!

I had bluetooth and the convienience pack (auto lights, wipers and dimming mirror and rear parking sensors) on mine and if I was to order again would have exactly the same, but may also consider the media pack as at £600 it is a basic sat nav and includes bluetooth.

I believe the extra computer features come as standard on the FL FR even if you don't have the bluetooth as the car needs the gear change indicator for the euro 5 engine.

Personally, the standard 17" wheels look better than the optional 18"s and the car looks best in Candy White saving the money on the metallic paint and the wheels, But obviously your call!

Cheers

Thanks guys. 42 mpg. That's double what I'm getting round town at the mo.

All the used CRs seem to be ex demos at the moment and they are pretty basic no options

if anyone seeing anything let me know

I'm just about to change jobs, so the car goes too...

Believe the lease company will sell it, so a 6 month old car should soon be on the market!

Have no idea what car i'll be getting with the new job yet but rumour says it may be a vw jetta:banghead2
