Hi all,

Been joined a while but only just bought my 1st Seat, I got a 99 'T' Ibiza Cupra 8v GTi, thought I was buying an 16v but turned out to be 8v and bought it anyway.
It has a set of 17" alloys on it and a JR cone filter, its done 75k miles and has been fully serviced manily by Seat

couple of questions for you guys:-

1) The car idles quite erratically especially when cold sometimes to the point of stalling when pulling up

2) What is the best nost inexpensive way of improving the car in your opinions?

cheers guys

I dont have a gti but most of the same things go.

1) Clean the throttle body. The method usually suggested is using some carb cleaner and a toothbrush. Also try redex petrol additive next time you fill up. Will clean injectors etc as it is flushed through.

2) Depends how much money you want to spend and your definition of improving it. i.e looks or handling etc.

Most common things suggested again is to lower it,a set of rear spacers, strut braces and just a general sort of 'tidy-up'. You may also want to drop down from 17's to 16's as alot of opinions are that 16's giver a better overall ride etc.

Thats just a start. Im sure people will add to the list. You will also get alot of different ideas/opinions on this forum.

cheers guys im going to look at cleaning the throttle body today, if i struggle ill get one of the technicians at work as i run the service dept at a mitsubishi dealer im sure they'll assist.

I also forgot to mention that one of the side skirts needs replacing, is there a better priced place to go?

With the spacers can I get them from anywhere or do they need to be specific ones?

cheers
