Did any of you guys have a problem with the fit of the new facia? Mine fitted really badly, wouldnt push in at all! I ended up using some double sided sticky pads so it looks fine now... on the old unit you have all those metal clip things but the facia just has some plastic push in bits.... or am i missing something really basic???
IM loving the unit its the nuts.

iPod sounds like its playing in a tin can, cant be bothered to swap the wires round as i wont be using it now i have 18GB storage to play with!

Just got to wait for my v3 map now and hope that the poi editor thing is sorted out soon and all will be well!!!!

your missing nothing. the cheap plastic surround is, well, cheap!!
i bent out the plastic tabs as far as they'd go without snapping, and it fits ok now. looks ok too.

had a PM from another member and they gave me part numbers for the proper plates and clips so that the new facia fits in tight. Just phoned to order them and they are only a couple of quid, will let you know more when i pick them up later in the week. I think its worth it for a couple of quid to get it fixed in more securely...

Does anyone know what thread the info is in about the iPod adapter and what wires to swap etc so it sounds ok, want to do that before i clip the facia in obviously!

If you can enter postcodes Dave, I think you already have the V3 maps

Nick, im not sure i looked on that forum too... bit confusing!

I checked on the unit and it says Map Version 6317, so I do have V3 maps!!!!!!

For instance if i enter DA it shows BEXLEYHEATH6, BEXLEYHEATH7 or BEXLEYHEATH8... then when i choose one it gives me the roads to choose in that code... not like a traditional search but just as good...

Cheers Tommy, you were right all along....

Oh and Nick, sorry if you already posted it....

I had no problem using the fascia part as mentioned by Dan in his guide with my MFD2. However, I was surprised that it was 'clip-free'. If there's anything to add, please post the details.

9 pieces 3B0 867 190 (clips for the front frame)
4 pieces N 906 986 03 (screws for mounting the unit)
4 pieces 1J0 858 137 A (plates for mountingscrews

Couple of quid from the dealer ;)

I can recommend the above, the other 2 pieces you dont need if you got the clips that Dan said in his post, but i guess it looks more professional if you use the proper Seat screws and holders....

The clips for the frame are VERY fidly as they clip into the 9 long holes around the satnav and then when you push the facia on it really clips in hard rather than just sitting on flapping about!

The clips came to about £2.50 so anyone fitting the RNS-510 them selves just order them when you order the facia, job done.

Thanks to Smiler for the info
