Well success with the DRL changeout! Took a whole of 10 mins and improves the front end 100%! Had to swap the spade connectors as said above by the other lads. Took a few pics so will try and get them up soon.
I bought a pair of these a month ago and finally got round to fitting them last night.
Now I only fitted one at a time, and upon doing so, I got the light warning on the dash and the MFD saying both DRL's had failed although it was one LED and one OEM bulb.
Long story short, it worked with both standard bulbs, but not with one LED.
Do both bulbs need fitted to "balance" things or have they sold me two duff units? They both offered to start via a flicker, but that was all.
Al did you try swapping the spade connectors on the bulb holders in case it was a polarity problem? Also, you definitely need to switch off and remove the key before retrying after making any changes. If you don't, the daft bulb system won't retry the LEDs properly. Hope you get it sorted anyway.
The wires are connected to the bulb holders by little spade connectors. Just gently wiggle them and they should detach so you can swap them to reverse the polarity. Hope it works for you!
Is it possible to remove the bulb error via vagcom? I have error free LED DRLs, and led side lights. But as soon as I put some "can bus friendly" number plate LEDS the car has none of it. They light up and look great, but the error is on all the time is annoying.
