New to the LCR Scene - Revo now [On]

Well probably about time i introduce myself. I've been browsing these forums for months now looking at all the great wealth of information on Seats during my hunt for a Cupra R.

I recently purchased a red Cupra R from another member on here with 35k on the clock and pre-revo'd but disabled.. I decided to keep it disabled until i could get used to the power (coming from a 1.9 Diesel).

First impressions of the Cupra R are fantastic and i have to say the power pulls all the way through keeping me smiling. With a boost gauge fitted it was spiking at 15psi and resting on 11psi after that, which after looking at the boards seems to be standard (the car apparently made 225bhp standard on RR).

I decided to try out the Revo tonight and re-enable it to see what the boost increases to and the increased power, and i have to say its gone from fast to ludicrous, the power is practically impossible to keep down in first and second gear without feathering it in all the way (something i will need to master!) and it pulls extremely hard in all gears, i can definetly see why people rate it as the most important and best modification.

The boost now peaks at 25psi and rests on 21psi, so i presume that is the norm. Overall very happy with the performance and cant wait to give it a real run around!

Just my opinion for any people new to the Cupra scene (like i was)!

:funk::funk: I also managed to get 40mpg going to Birmingham Airport and back the other night, taking it steady - so it can make good mileage when you want to [B)]

remap's next on my list.

i want a custom one, though, so it's not so aggressive in the lower gears. 3rd and up though, i want full-on mental :)

that's not gonna happen then - it's not able to discrimnate between what gear you're in

You'll see more boost in the higher gears because of the higher engine load, but only marginally really.

It makes me laugh when peolpe say they don't want it "agressive low down". Why would you not .

Half decent tyres and a half decent driver on a half dry road and it's great fun :D

I'm all for as agressive as they can make it. Much better on todays speed regulated roads to out pull someone from low revs, rather then beat them at top end. (especially with all the very quick diesels around with tons of low end torque)

just to add to this thread a quick question... now i have re-enabled the revo (setting 3 98 octane) with the SPS2 controller (im also using nothing but V-Power) the boost tends to spike to 24/25psi (when using second gear) and then rest at 20/21psi. Does this seem normal or a little high?

Mods include ramair filter, forge 007 dump valve.

I dont want the turbo to go bang at any point!
