Sounds like a good starter list, personally I like Zaino gear, but like I said its down to personal preference.
Heard good reports about the purple haze on black cars.
Not going for a polisher just yet then ?

Kit list looks fine although i would perhaps just work by hand this time round unless you are confident with the polisher you have access to...

Have a read through this guide, its not the be all and end all but its pretty close ;)

To be honest, if you have used a machine before and are comfortable with one then as long as you start light (polishing pad and light cut compound) you will be fine.

Overall the SEAT paint seems to follow the VAG trend and be pretty hard (as long as its original paint).

No no should be able to use it more than once. Just keep remoulding it and using different surfaces off the bar

If your using the iron x and if you use like Autosmarts tardis that should remove a lot of the crap first before you go over it with the clay bar.

general rule of thumb for clay is chuck it if its really dirty and chuck it if you drop it.

if this is the first time your car has been clayed and your not using something like tardis (noted you have iron-x) then a lot of the dirt and tar contamination is going to picked up by the clay.

iron-x will only break down and remove iron filings and similar contamination, it wont pull anything else off the paint. Tardis is good for tar and general "dirty" contamination so is a useful addition in the process.

i dont clay my car more than once every 6 months when the Zaino protection is removed / reapplied.

ive got some ag tar remover kicking about should i give the car a wipe down with it after the iron-x?

yeah that will do the job. Not quite as good as tardis from what i read but it works fine for me. Post up some pics of your results!

PS thought you weren't into detailing :p
