Significant or Major issue which is now fully resolved as part of the warranty: Complete failure of media / nav system control unit. Happened on way home from dealership after picking car up. Fully resolved under warranty. The control unit was replaced and I've had no issues since.

Please answer the poll and also give some more details if you can.

I've seen your previous posts, I think you should either just take the plunge and get one or go for another motor, it's just the chance you take. If something serious (highly unlikely) or even minor does go wrong, then it's covered under warranty.

Minior issue - squeaking clutch, easily resolved with 3 in 1 silicone lubricant spray.

The front seat belt buckles were at the wrong angle and vibrated every time you went over a bump. The ordered new ones but then discovered it was because they were too upright. Also the front washer jet stopped working, apparently it was because the fuse had blown as the water had frozen in the pipe and there is a sensor that detected that and thus blew the fuse.

Fuse blew on the window washer pump when we had the really bad winter weather. Some numpty at the factory put a cable on the wrong way round so the directional fans where the wrong way round. Battery in the remote died within 24 hours. All fixed quickly when taken to the garage on separate occasions.

Currently it's in the garage due to an intermittent electrical fault affecting the Stop/Start, Front Assist and Stability Control systems and throttle from working properly. Been in the garage since Friday. Hoping to get it back tomorrow.

1. Issue with the blowers, intensity goes up and down depending on throttle use.... very annoying.

2. Creaking/rattling from around the instrument cluster.... again getting very annoying.

3. Boot lid doesnt seem to go up and down properly.

4. Intermittent clunking noise from the rear when reversing.

Given your proposed purchase location, have you considered the combined effects of FR suspension and Cyprus' roads on your spine and fillings? :)

I'd get an SE or Xcellence with comfort suspension instead.

My stop/start intermittently doesn't work either. Switching the engine off and on seems to do the trick, but I'd be interested to hear what the garage said about yours....

I have 1 and 3 on your list too. Surely these things are not by design? The boot lid is far too much effort to close IMO.

Had a call from the garage day, they found a fault with the brake switch but after checking it they can't find a fault, so they're checking the ECU next week. Fingers crossed they find the problem, I'm sick of the slow courtesy car I've got from Enterprise haha

I had a minor issue where the Head Unit would lose all its bass / Low end and I'd be left with Mids and Highs and nothing else.
It was really strange however I reset the head unit to factory defaults and the issue hasn't occurred since.

Other than that I'm 5,000 miles into my new car and its the best car I've ever owned (If only it had more power!)

Got my car back yesterday, there was a fault with the brake switch which was affecting various other electrical components. Glad to have it back now. It's only been in the garage for 14 days! Might see if I can get some money back from finance. Worth a shot I think.

Replying to myself seems like madness, but I'm doing it so there!

Think I've figured out what was going on with the Stop/Start not working - I was a bit trigger happy when turning the ignition on when the car was cold. Coming from an old Fabia vRS (diesel) I was used to warming the glow plugs anyway, so waiting a couple of seconds before firing the engine is no big deal and Stop/Start always seems to work now.

The intermittent blowers are still annoying though, and the boot lid seems to need a second downwards push to close it after the initial 'grab and pull' of the handle from the 'up' position. Is everyone else's boot the same? Seems like a pretty crappy design flaw to me.

McSwanky,

The issue with my blowers is currently being assessed by SEAT UK. The dealership wasn't aware of the issue but when I took the service guy out in the car last Friday he noticed it straight away. The service manager should have an answer for me tomorrow.

I also showed him the boot problem and he informed me that it's normal on the Ibiza and any new car.... sounded like a load of rubbish to me but it appeared to be a trivial issue to him...... I have never had a new car with a boot that is so difficult to close properly first time.

I have the same issue with the boot and the blowers.

Will try and contact the dealer today.

I'm guessing the people with blower issues don't have climate control? I haven't noticed any problems with mine.

Correct on at least one account - I don't. Strictly stock FR here, right down to the Med Blue paint! :clown:
