New headunit

Hi guys and girls i used to have a kenwood headunit. It was great it had a bulit in hpf and lpf and sounded great. It could read mp3 cds and used to flip out. But now the cd player dont work. So i swapped with my mums sony xplode.

This sony headunit is crap. I hate it. It changes colours but chavvy styliyeee, sounds crap. The hpf is only settable to 78 or 125 same with lpf. You cant turn off the internal amp. has all the usually crappy dso, xplode and xplode ur speakers cos this setting will eat ur coils. Anyways rant over.

I need a new headunit. I would like one which sounds great. So i read that the Nakamichi cd500 is the shizzle. It dont look very cool but its very highly rated.

Im not too sure but i may get a becker if it gives even better sound quality.

or i could get the jvc kd-avx33

Im not sure which of them is the best the jvc seems to be the most feature rich and has a 24bit dac. also has a screen and bluetooth and thats just pimp.

It also has 5v preouts what does this mean? Is it so my gains will be lower to get the same volume therefore straining the amps less?#

If you can give me any alternatives they must have

mp3
clear sound
2 preouts
under 400quid

cheers

the 5v out is so it can power up more amps... less than 400 ummm go onto justkenwood.co.uk and look for KDCPSW9531 (under radio cd) its way below your budget at £230 but the normal retail is £500!! also sounds good as i have it :D

Pretty much anything by Alpine is accessible in that budget - their top-of-the-range CD HU is about £300? Can't speak highly enough of Alpine.

I've had a 9828 for about 3 years, using all 3 pre-outs and caned it regularly and it keeps coming back for more - see no reason to replace it yet either!
