Good stuff! You get performance ones or standard?

Looks like the code on the box in the first picture reads:

23.905.03 (no obvious '/R' suffix)

which indicates a standard pad set, plus the pad itself has 1045 printed on it.

1065 = Performance or competition
1055 = 'Fast Road' (for want of a better description)

so it's fair to assume 1045 = standard.

From what i have seen on the galfer website the 1045 and 1055 are of similiar organic compound bar the higher operating temp of the 1055, both of which have 0.44 friction coefficient.

The 1065 has a even higher temp rating and has a friction coefficient of 0.56 but doesn't bite as hard when cold but still acceptable for road use. Possibly like the ds2500.

The 1075 and 1080 are race spec pads that don't really work when cold both of these pads are cm base.

Pads

yes thats correct Standard ones for me...18500 miles and 2-3 mm left so you can assume that I dont do tracks...yet !!..lol
after talking to the guys at Leda Suspension, they say that the Galfer STANDARD are actually uprated from the originals but I cannot confirm this at the moment.
TBH I dont think I personally need fast road / competition pads for my use but at this price I could swap later on should I feel the 'Need for Speed' ;)

Keep you all posted. Hopefully fitting them tomorrow all being well and can find me jack and get the wheel bolts loose.....maybe have three shedded wheat for breakie..

just cos they are CM based wont mean they dont work from cold.. mine work better than stock in all conditions.

Your right bill.

Just looked at the coefficient temps and both the 1075 and 1085 have more friction at 120 degrees than the 1065 pads.

Standard Galfer pads fitted

Got the 'Standard' Galfer 1045 's fitted on Sat afternoon, and yes the wheel bolts were 'FT'.
The test. From cold they did feel a bit 'dead' i.e no initial bite. So gently bedded them in on Sunday after a 460 mile round trip to Heathrow Up the A303 and a lot of gentle braking.Apart from one hairy moment when a Learner driver in a Fiesta pulled out across the duel carraigeway from the right and shot into the inside lane...as I was passing a Saab 95 towing a trailer at the very moment .... He had nowhere to go... so I braked as gently as I could but with a fair amount of pressure and sure enough I let the Saab into the outer lane...He was more than thankfull for sure ...So they work
After arriving home on Monday checked the wheels and hardly any brake dust on the fronts so I do feel that the 'Standard Galfer Pads' are of a harder compound than the originals, also they they do feel a bit more progressive than the originals. But this may change after more miles and once completey bedded in and the original pad compound has been wiped off the original discs.
PS no brake noise or squeeling

Hi,

I live in France where this pads are very expensive (more than 230 euros)... I have 58000 kms and I need to buy my third set ! (and a set of new disc two !). So I am very interested by a group buy. Anyone can tell me if it possible for me to join us ? (can't send MP, I'm a new poster !). You can mail me at [email protected]

Thanks.
